Virtual Office Guide

What a virtual office includes, which documents you receive, what it can and cannot be used for, and how to choose a provider that survives departmental scrutiny.

Who this is for

Founders, e-commerce sellers and companies expanding to new states

What's inside

What you actually get

  • A commercial business address usable on invoices, website and cards
  • Signed rent or licence agreement in your company name
  • Utility bill or property-tax proof and a No Objection Certificate
  • Name board display at the centre for departmental verification
  • Mail handling, courier receipt and forwarding
  • Meeting room access on an hourly basis when you need to meet in person

Common use cases

  • Company or LLP incorporation registered office
  • GST registration as principal or additional place of business
  • Marketplace seller registration in a new state
  • Branch presence in a city before hiring a team
  • Replacing a residential address on public records

What it cannot do

  • It is not a place to seat staff daily — that needs desks or a cabin
  • It cannot be used where physical stock is stored without a warehouse address
  • It cannot be shared without the provider's documentation in your name
  • It does not replace state-specific labour or trade licences

Choosing a provider

  • Insist on an original signed agreement, not a photocopy template
  • Confirm the centre is a real, staffed workspace you can visit
  • Check that they support inspection visits and display your name board
  • Ask about renewal pricing and document reissue charges
  • Prefer providers who also offer desks — you will need them later
