What's inside

Documents required

  • PAN of the business and of authorised signatories
  • Certificate of incorporation, partnership deed or proprietor's PAN
  • Aadhaar and photograph of the authorised signatory
  • Board resolution or authorisation letter
  • Bank account proof: cancelled cheque or first page of statement
  • Principal place of business address proof set

Address proof rules

  • Owned premises: latest property tax receipt or electricity bill
  • Rented premises: rent or licence agreement plus owner's ownership proof
  • Shared or virtual office: agreement in the applicant's name plus NOC
  • The name and address on all documents must match exactly
  • Documents should be recent — utility bills within the last two to three months
  • Additional place of business needs the same proof set for each location

Process

  • File Part A of REG-01 and verify the OTP to get a TRN
  • Complete Part B with business, promoter, address and bank details
  • Complete Aadhaar authentication to avoid physical verification
  • Respond to any REG-03 notice within seven working days
  • Receive GSTIN and download the registration certificate REG-06

Why applications get rejected

  • Blurred, cropped or expired address-proof uploads
  • Missing NOC from the property owner
  • Address on the agreement does not match the utility bill
  • No name board at the premises during physical verification
  • Mismatch between the business name on PAN and on the application
